From Ios we headed north to Iraklia. According to Navily and the cruising guide there was a very nice spot to anchor in clear water just outside the main harbour.
It proved to be so and we tied back in a spectacular little cove just outside the harbour entrance. I took the opportunity to fly the drone from the shore and get some nice overhead shots of the anchorage and the amazing clear water.
Later that day our idyll was somewhat interrupted by the wind getting up and quite large waves rolling in from the sound. We quickly assessed that the anchorage would be untenable so we cast off the stern lines, weighed the anchor and headed for the town quay which fortunately had a space. We spent the next couple of days tied up at the town quay, relaxing and watching the ferry come in each day.
